Butter & Burlap, operated by Painter Process Control Solutions LLC ("we," "us," or "our"), values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and safeguard your information when you interact with our website, mobile app, and services.

1. What We Collect

• Personal Information: Your name, email address, phone number, shipping address, pickup preferences, and optional birthday when you sign up or place an order.
• Order and Purchase Information: Product selections, gift-card recipient details or messages, discounts, tax, shipping, fulfillment choices, order status, and payment status.
• Payment Information: Payment details are collected and processed by Stripe. Butter & Burlap stores transaction identifiers and status needed to reconcile and support an order, but does not store full payment-card numbers.
• Identifiers: Account identifiers, push-notification tokens, Stripe customer or payment identifiers, and device-integrity signals used for authentication, notifications, payment reconciliation, and abuse prevention.
• SMS Consent Records: Whether you opted in to receive transactional text updates, plus the consent source and timestamp when available.
• Device and Diagnostic Data: Browser or app version, IP address, access timestamps, and limited error or security events used to operate and protect the service.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To fulfill and confirm your orders
• To calculate shipping options and arrange delivery
• To process and reconcile payments and prevent fraud or abuse
• To notify you of your order status
• To send transactional SMS updates about order confirmation, pickup readiness, shipping, or tracking when you opt in
• To send email updates about seasonal specials if you separately opt in

3. Communication Preferences

We only send SMS notifications if you opt in during checkout, signup, or profile setup. SMS messages are transactional order updates such as confirmation, pickup readiness, shipping, or tracking. Message frequency varies by order activity. Message and data rates may apply. You can reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help, or contact us directly to update your preferences.

4. Data Sharing

Your information is never sold or rented. We use trusted service providers only as needed to operate Butter & Burlap, including Firebase for authentication, data storage, notifications, and abuse prevention; Stripe for payment processing and fraud prevention; Shippo for shipping rates and fulfillment; SendGrid for email; and Twilio for SMS. Shipping providers receive the delivery and package information needed to quote and fulfill a shipment. Mobile opt-in data, SMS consent records, and phone numbers are not shared with third parties for their own marketing or promotional purposes.

5. Data Security

We take precautions to safeguard your information using encryption and secure storage. However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure.

The Butter & Burlap app does not request precise location. If Stripe offers card scanning during checkout, camera access is optional and Butter & Burlap does not save a photo or video from that permission.

6. Your Rights

You may request access to or correction of your personal information at any time. Signed-in customers can initiate permanent account deletion from My Account on the website or from the Account screen in the Butter & Burlap app. For security, we require you to confirm your current password before deletion.

Account deletion removes your sign-in, saved customer profile, preferences, promos, and notification registrations. Order, payment, gift-card, fulfillment, refund, fraud-prevention, tax, accounting, and related communication records may be retained where needed for legal or legitimate business purposes. Retained records are disconnected from your customer account and personal details are removed when fulfillment or another required retention purpose no longer requires them.

7. Children's Privacy

We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under the age of 13. If we learn that we have, we will promptly delete it.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted on this page, and continued use of our services implies acceptance of those changes.
